A man set his arm on fire during a tennis tournament in London on Friday to protest the use of private jets in Britain.
Stefanos Tsitsipas of Greece was playing Diego Schwartzman of Argentina in a Laver Cup match at the O2 Arena when the unknown man stormed the field wearing a T-shirt that read ‘End UK Private Jets’.
Swiss great Roger Federer would go to court later in the day for the final game of his career, with the 41-year-old partnering with Spain’s Rafael Nadal to take on American duo Jack Sock and Frances Tiafoe.
Photos showed the man’s arm going up in flames.
He was carried off the field by three guards before the game resumed, according to a cell phone video.
“A man entered the court this afternoon and was promptly removed by security,” a Laver Cup official said.
The official said the man has since been arrested.
Tsitsipas won Friday’s game 6-2, 6-1, giving Team Europe a 2-0 lead.
